About the campaign

The Campaign: History, Context, and Aims

Two primary Campaign objectives are: (1) to renew and empower the efforts of congregations already serving children at risk to poverty; and (2) to challenge and enable congregations, that are not involved with children at risk to poverty, to establish ministries to such children. The campaign is the first time these denominations have collaborated to make a social witness as Methodist partners. The Pan-Methodist Commission wants every Methodist congregation to be involved with ministries that care for children in poverty.

The Pan-Methodist Campaign for Children in Poverty seeks to serve and engage with all of God's children, without boundary or border.

Every day, members of the Campaign are working to be God's hands and feet on earth in support of children. Here are some of the reports from that work.

Poverty Reduction Effect

The American Rescue Plan, passed by Congress and signed by President Biden in March, provides families supplemental financial relief for the cost of raising children until the end of the year. This revolutionary change in how the federal government assists families with children will impact the fight against those living in poverty.
